19 mm Forex 3D Lettering: A Guide to Creation

19 mm Forex 3D lettering is one of the most widely used solutions in visual communication and interior design. They allow you to transform a logo, sign, or text into a three-dimensional element with a high aesthetic impact, durability, and customizability down to the last detail. Whether for a shop, an office, a stand, or a stage set, 3D Forex letters represent the perfect balance of design, functionality, and durability.

In this guide, we'll look at how they're made, the finishes available, their advantages over other materials, and their main areas of application.

What is Forex?

Forex is a PVC-based expanded plastic material, available in various thicknesses (from 1 mm to over 19 mm). It combines lightness and rigidity, making it perfect as a durable yet easy-to-work with.

Main characteristics:

  • It is resistant to atmospheric agents and UV rays.
  • It has a uniform surface, ideal for printing and painting.
  • It is easily shaped with CNC machines.
  • It remains lightweight even in large formats, facilitating transport and assembly.

The 19 mm thickness is the most commonly used for three-dimensional lettering, as it ensures stability and visual depth.

From Design to Cutting File

Every 3D lettering starts with a graphic design: the logo, text, or symbol is processed into vector files (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) that define the cutting paths.

The steps:

  • Analysis of proportions and fonts.
  • Creation of a clean and scaled vector file.
  • Study of the three-dimensional effect.
  • Graphic simulation for the client.

A correct file is essential: errors in the paths compromise the precision of the cut.

CNC Cutting

CNC cutting (computer numerical control) allows Forex to be shaped with extremely high precision. Each letter or symbol is cut from 19 mm panels, following the provided templates exactly.

Advantages:

  • Clean cuts even on complex details.
  • Repeatability and absolute fidelity.
  • Optional internal and external shapes.
  • Fast production times.

Available finishes

Once cut, the letters can be customized with various finishes:

Direct digital printing

Allows you to reproduce multicolored logos and complex graphics with brilliant color rendering. The edges remain white, creating a modern contrast.

Varnishing

It also covers the sides, making the lettering uniform. It is available in any Pantone or RAL color, with a matte, glossy, or satin finish.

Special finishes

  • Gold, silver, or bronze metallic effects.
  • Satin varnishes.
  • UV embossed prints.

Installation of 3D lettering

One of the strengths of Forex is its ease of assembly.

Main methods:

  • Direct bonding with structural silicone or Pattex Millechiodi®.
  • Spacer supports for a suspended effect.
  • Mechanical fastening with screws or brackets, for permanent installations.

The lightness of the material allows even large lettering to be installed without complex structures.
